We need to understand the different types of sugars according to their sources. They can be sugarcane, tubers, fruits, flowers, grains, honey, synthetic or chemical. Some sugars are made out of tubers, grains like corn. Most of the readymade products that are available in the market contains high fructose corn syrup which is associated with an increased risk of obesity, diabetes, heart diseases and cancer. The refined sugar which we use in our daily diet are synthetic sugar which is not good for metabolism. This also gives rise to health disorders. Let’s make our lives healthier and happier by taking simple steps. Here is a quick and perfect sugar free sweet. You can have it anytime without the fear of putting on those extra pounds.
NUTS & DATES ROLL
Almonds - 100 gms
Pistachios – 100 gms
Unsalted Cashews – 50 gms
Seedless Dates – 250 gms
Clarified Butter – 1 tsp (optional)
Roast all the nuts together in a pan adding clarified butter. Clarified butter is optional. It gives a nice aroma if used. Nuts should turn golden brown in color. Now let it cool for sometime. Make a coarse powder of this and keep it aside. Soak dates in hot water for 30 minutes and blend into a smooth paste in a blender. Mix the coarse powder and dates paste together. Now take a sheet of aluminum foil. Place this mixture and roll it. Cover the roll with aluminum foil. Put it inside the freezer for 30 minutes. Then take it out and cut into pieces. Remove the foil.
Serve with tea or during breakfast. Kids are going to love this. Rather all age group people would prefer this.
