'Power Book: Force' Isaac Keys on Series 'Secret' Ingredient to Success: Chemistry

Tommy Egan is BACK and this time, with his own spinoff. The 50 Cent universe continues to expand with the Power series as Starz has greenlit the third spinoff from the franchise with Power Book IV: Force. The new series will follow Egan (played by Joseph Sikora), who has cut all ties and puts New York in his rearview mirror for good when he arrives in Chicago and sets his sights on becoming the biggest drug dealer the Second City has ever seen.

Deadline shared the press release below:

As Tommy leaves New York after losing Ghost, LaKeisha, and the only city he’s ever known, he makes a quick detour to close an old wound that’s been haunting him for decades. What was supposed to be a quick stop turns into a labyrinth of family secrets and lies Tommy thought were long buried. One step leads to another, and Tommy quickly finds himself in Chicago’s drug game, inserting himself between the city’s two biggest crews. In a city divided by race, Tommy straddles the line, ultimately becoming the lynchpin that not only unites them – but holds the power to watch them crumble. Tommy uses his outsider status to his advantage, breaking all the local rules and rewriting them on his quest to become the biggest drug dealer in Chicago.

The series, in addition to Sikora, will also star Lili Simmons, Gabrielle Ryan, Shane Harper, Kris D. Lofton, Anthony Fleming III, Lucien Cambric, Isaac Keys, and Tommy Flanagan.

Your Voice Media chatted with Keys about the series, working with Sikora, and the ingredient that will make the series flourish like its counterparts.

"This is the one that everyone has been anticipating," said Keys. "Joseph, who has played Tommy, has done so well with this character. We were shooting on set and people would stop and scream Tommy and it's amazing. To be a part of this now, it's still surreal to me. We're gonna break all the numbers."

When asked what it was like working with Sikora, Keys says the actor is "helpful," assisting him and the actors during scenes to push the best out of them.

"It was one time we had a scene and towards the end of the scene, he hit me with the Tommy eyebrow," laughed Keys, who continued saying he almost lost focus in the scene after the unexpected facial expression. "I told him how I had to stay strong and finish the scene. What I love about working with Sikora is he's helpful and very engaged on what's going on. He knows his character and how the universe is. For us being new characters, he always had his door open to assist us. We may be a little off script, but can we keep up? And that's how you gain his respect. He's a great friend and person to help me during filming."

Keys feels the ingredient that will make the series standout is "chemistry."

"The ingredient here is the chemistry," expressed Keys. "Having that chemistry amongst the castmates and everyone wanting to be the best they can be for the project - from the top like producers, cast and crew, we all wanted greatness for the show. It was a joy to go to work - asking each other when we will share scenes together. When you have chemistry, it shows. We call ourselves 'The Force Fam'."

You don't have to wait any longer to see how the chemistry will play out in the series as 'Power Book IV: Force' is zooming to Starz, premiering Sunday on February 6th.
