SZA Confirms She Was Not Underage When She Dated Drake

SZA and Drake became a surprising new headline after a released feature on 21 Savage's "Mr Right Now."

Appearing on his brand new album, Savage Mode II, in Verse 2, Drake raps about the Missouri native making claims that the pair dated back in 2008.

"Yeah, said she wanna f*ck to some SZA, wait 'Cause I used to date SZA back in '08." Drake raps.

After the song's release and rumors of SZA unfollowing Drake on Instagram because of the lyrics, a lot of fans decided to refollow Drake and SZA's relationship timeline as fans shockingly discovered that age might not have been a factor in the couple's arrangement.

Appearing to be 17 years old at the time, SZA quickly denied rumors of being underaged when dating the Toronto rapper as she brought to Twitter some clarification.

In a Tweet on Sunday night, the singer and songwriter wrote “I just didn’t want anybody thinking anything underage or creepy was happening,” she added. “Completely innocent. Lifetimes ago.”

Ending the entertaining digging of the two's history, SZA confirmed that she did date Drake but in 2009, not 2008. After a short-lived hook-up, SZA added that there are no feuds after the song's release, just love, and peace.

A month before the release, drake showed love and gave SZA a shoutout on his Instagram Stories with the caption "Solana is the [chef's] kiss," which was in support for her September 2020 single, "Hit Different."

Though the two may not be together, it was refreshing to see two staples have a relationship before their heightened fame.
