YV Media's Interview with Cast of Kirk's Franklin's 'A Gospel Christmas'

In today's world, sometimes you need a little compassion and love to get you through these tough times - and that's just what you will get in Kirk Franklin's: A Gospel Christmas.

Starring Demetria McKinney, Chaz Lamar Shepherd & Kirk Franklin, the Lifetime holiday movie follows Olivia (Demetria McKinney), a young assistant pastor, gets assigned to be a lead pastor at a new church a month before Christmas, she’s fearful she can't manage the transition, including getting the choir ready to open the town's annual Winter Jamboree. Banding together with her new congregation, Olivia discovers a new home for herself, and even finds a little Christmas romance along the way! The movie will feature a special appearance and songs written and arranged by Kirk Franklin.

Your Voice Media correspondent Ty Cole spoke to the stars about the film and posed the question "What would you give to the world that you would hope to be passed on to generations as time continues?" to which McKinney answered: empathy.

"If people would put themselves in each other shoes, we'd be less likely to commit that crime or hurt a person," she expressed. "If your hungry, you would want somebody to feed you. If you were naked, you would want somebody to cloth you. If you're lost, you would want somebody to find you. If we gave back to each other and be a little selfless, everything would make a great turn clear on its head."
